Your first session at New Chapter Counseling is designed to provide a safe and comfortable space for you to begin your therapeutic journey. It typically involves an initial assessment where you can share your concerns, discuss your history, and express your goals for therapy. This session helps your counselor understand your needs and lay the groundwork for your personalized treatment plan.

We do not accept insurance but will provide you with a superbill for possible reimbursement depending on your insurance company policies. Contact your insurance company more information on your out of network benefits.

At New Chapter Counseling, our primary focus is on providing the highest quality care tailored specifically to your unique needs as a survivor of narcissistic abuse. We have chosen to offer our services on a private pay basis rather than through insurance for several important reasons:

  1. Confidentiality Concerns: Insurance companies often require detailed information about sessions, including personal details and treatment notes, which can compromise the privacy of the therapeutic process. We believe that what you share in therapy should remain confidential and not be subject to third-party scrutiny.
  2. Personalized Treatment Plans: Every survivor’s experience and healing process is different. Private pay allows us to create highly individualized treatment plans that are tailored specifically to your needs, without being restricted by the limitations often imposed by insurance companies. We can use a variety of therapeutic approaches, focus on the issues most important to you, and adjust the duration and intensity of therapy according to what will best support your healing.
  3. Flexibility and Freedom: Private pay provides you with the flexibility to choose the frequency and length of your sessions based on your needs rather than what insurance dictates. You have the freedom to access specialized services and therapies that may not be covered by insurance, ensuring that you receive the most effective and comprehensive care.
  4. Uninterrupted Care: Insurance policies often require reauthorization or limit the number of sessions, which can disrupt the continuity of care. With private pay, you can engage in therapy at your own pace, for as long as you need, without the worry of insurance coverage running out or needing approval for continued treatment.
  5. Focus on Quality Over Quantity: By choosing private pay, we maintain the highest standards of care, free from the administrative burdens and constraints of insurance billing. This allows us to dedicate more time and attention to your healing process, ensuring that each session is meaningful, effective, and centered on your well-being.
  6. Financial Realities: Many insurance plans have high deductibles or copays, meaning clients often end up paying out-of-pocket for services anyway. By offering a direct payment model, we can be more transparent about costs and provide the highest quality care without the limitations imposed by insurance.
  7. Sliding Scale Options: We understand that financial considerations are important, so we offer a sliding scale based on income for those who qualify. This allows us to make therapy accessible without compromising the quality or confidentiality of care.

At New Chapter Counseling, we uphold the strictest standards of confidentiality and privacy as mandated by HIPAA. All client communications, records, and therapy sessions are kept strictly confidential, ensuring your privacy and trust throughout your therapy experience.

Yes, we are fully Telehealth. Our virtual sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy and safety.
